The "BioPestGuardians" project, titled "Pest Biological Control Agents: The Fail Safe Revolution in Modern Agriculture in Europe," is a small-scale partnership in vocational education and training (VET) funded under the Erasmus+ programme. It aims to increase awareness and knowledge about biopesticides among VET students, educators, and farmers, providing them with training on the application of biopesticides to develop skilled professionals in the field. The project also seeks to support farmers in adopting biopesticides as an alternative to conventional pesticides, thereby reducing the environmental impact of agricultural practices and improving health and safety for both farmers and consumers.
The target groups for the BioPestGuardians project are diverse, encompassing several key stakeholders in the agricultural and environmental sectors. These include farmers and growers interested in sustainable pest management practices and VET educators and students who are involved in providing and receiving practical skills in fields like agriculture and environmental management. The project also targets consumers increasingly interested in food safety and sustainability, NGOs and environmental organizations that promote eco-friendly practices, and organizations focused on local and rural development that aim to support small-scale farmers.
