The project aims to analyze educational needs to ensure VET professionals can meet the demands of modern agricultural enterprises that incorporate new technologies and sustainability standards. This analysis can inform changes and additions to VET curricula. Furthermore, the developed online platform and dissemination activities are expected to create a demand for new or improved VET programs focused on sustainable pest management, potentially leading to new curricula tailored to industry and labor market needs.
A core objective of the project is to support farmers in adopting biopesticides as a sustainable alternative to conventional pesticides. By increasing understanding and knowledge among VET students, educators, and farmers, the project anticipates a greater uptake of biopesticides. This shift aims to reduce the reliance on conventional pesticides and their associated negative environmental and health impacts.
The educational requirements analysis within the project is expected to identify best practices for the effective and safe use of biopesticides. This will lead to the creation of guidelines and recommendations for VET students and farmers to follow. The online educational platform will further reinforce these best practices by promoting sustainable pest management strategies.
The project is designed to significantly increase awareness and knowledge about biopesticides among VET students, educators, and farmers, covering their benefits, limitations, and principles of safe use. Through activities like the educational needs analysis and the online training platform, participants and stakeholders will gain a more thorough understanding of biopesticides. This improved comprehension is crucial for informed decision-making regarding pest management strategies.
The BioPestGuardians project includes the creation of an online educational training platform focused on biopesticides based on LMS system LLOOF which powered by WWOOF. This platform will offer comprehensive resources such as an introduction to biopesticides, information on their different types, regulatory guidelines, and the latest research. It will feature training materials like video tutorials, interactive quizzes, and virtual simulations to help users understand the effective and safe application of biopesticides.
