The BioPestGuardians project, titled "Pest Biological Control Agents: The Fail Safe Revolution in Modern Agriculture in Europe," is a small-scale partnership in vocational education and training (VET) funded under the Erasmus+ programme. It aims to increase awareness and knowledge about biopesticides among VET students, educators, and farmers, providing them with training on the application of biopesticides to develop skilled professionals in the field. The project also seeks to support farmers in adopting biopesticides as an alternative to conventional pesticides, thereby reducing the environmental impact of agricultural practices and improving health and safety for both farmers and consumers.
Our project focuses on four key pillars to transform the agricultural landscape:
Raise Awareness: Educating students, teachers, and farmers on the benefits and safe application of biological control agents.
Build Capacity: Providing high-quality technical training to create a new generation of skilled professionals in Integrated Pest Management.
Support Farmers: Helping growers transition from chemical pesticides to cost-effective biological solutions to improve crop yields and profitability.
Modernize Education: Enhancing Vocational Education and Training (VET) to make it more attractive and relevant to the needs of the modern labor market.
We are developing a suite of tools and resources to support the agricultural community:
Digtial Educational Platform: A digital platform where anyone can access information and improve their skills in biopesticide use.
Expert Network: A collaborative group for professionals to exchange ideas on the latest agricultural technologies.
Educational Media: A collection of practical instructional videos, posters, and technical leaflets.
